Privacy

Backyard Scopes sets no cookies and runs no tracking script. This page explains the little that is recorded when you visit or write, and what you can ask for.

Visit statistics

The web server keeps a standard access log: the address requested, the time, the browser's user agent, the referring page and the IP address. Visit counts are drawn from these logs with Matomo, on the server, without any cookie or script in your browser. The logs are kept for a limited period and are never sold or shared.

The contact form

When you use the contact form, your name, reply address and message are passed on by email so that a reply can be sent. They are used for nothing else and deleted once the exchange is over.

Links to shops

Buttons such as "See the price at Unistellar" go through a short redirect on this site before reaching the shop. From there the shop's own privacy terms apply.

Your rights

Under the UK GDPR and the EU General Data Protection Regulation you may ask to see, correct or delete what concerns you, through the contact form. The publisher is based in France, so the supervisory authority is the CNIL (cnil.fr); residents of the United Kingdom may also contact the Information Commissioner's Office (ico.org.uk).
